The timber boxes which feature on the façade are inspired by the traditional Queenslander dwelling, re-interpreted into a modern high density building type.

The design has its genesis in the devastating 2011 flood, which covered the site in 3 metres of water. The residential levels have been designed to withstand any future flooding, an ark protecting its residents. The cafe features a large feature porthole, clad in timber.

51 residential units.
The working class suburb of Sherwood is a mix of residential/industrial and retail. The façades represent this rich mix of building types, using face brick, rendered block and lightweight sunscreens.
